I am very happy to be the newest Peace Corps Volunteer working with FLORA and the other partner organizations here in Kirovograd!  I left from my home in Erie, Colorado in the United States on May 19 and arrived in Kiev at the Peace Corps headquarters on May 20.  After several day of reorientation in Kiev with our new country director (see photo), I traveled by VIP taxi to my new home in Kirovograd.  I was met most graciously by my new counterpart Liudmyla and office staff and discovered my new home.  I was very happy to find not only smiling welcoming faces, but also a refrigerator full of food!  I will be working with Liudmyla to organize my schedule and activities during my one year stay here in Kirovograd.  I hope to continue the blog that the first Peace Corps Volunteer Gail started during her placement here.  I look forward to working with all of you!
